It is HOT!!!

It has been so hot this summer! All I'm doing is working and sleeping. I think we are on the fourth week of 100+ temperatures. I know that it is typical Central California, but still. It really isn't even cooling off that much at night until it is really late. There are times when I wish my job kept me in the office...but then the air conditioning there isn't working all that great, either. Oh, well...at least I have fun watching my coworkers run from the mice and roaches!

I need a hair cut...but I'm too lazy to go get it done. The last cut was terrible. I asked for a trim to about 3/4 of an inch (I like my hair short, even if my husband doesn't!) and it was left at two inches without being cut in the back. Mulletville! I convinced the person to trim the back. Will I go back there again? NO!!! I'll go to the beauty college again...they do better work. I need to find the card for the woman that cut my hair a while back...she did a great job.

I will be taking the pictures at a friend's wedding in September. I am getting nervous about it. I know that I can take excellent pictures...but it is such a special time for her, that I want it to go perfect. I figure I will probably take 300 pictures between 35 mm and digital. It may be more or less. I need to go see the church and see where I will be allowed to take photos and where I won't be allowed to. Things like will flash be allowed in the church or not. AAAAAAACCKKK!!

Guess that is it for tonight. Can't think of anything else, anyhow. Call it done!

I need more vacation!

It seems like vacation is never long enough. We came back a day earlier than planned as the idiots were already showing up. The place where we camp is very natural...you go to the back of beyond and then turn left. Unfortunately, too many people have discovered this place and all kinds of people that don't seem to respect nature are going there. I couldn't believe how many people in shorts with sandals on were walking across a rocky area full of rattlesnakes...the snakes were trying to let the people know that they were in their territory. Some people drove onto a wet meadow with their raised up 4X4 truck and parked across the trail to the other part of the campground. They were still there when we left, but it looked like the truck was sinking into the swampy area pretty good. Of course, they probably just tore up the area more than they did when they parked there.

It was nice and relaxing during the week when there weren't that many people there. The wind was blowing through the pine and aspen trees, the creek was bubbling over the rocks as it raced downstream. It was so cold at night that we needed a down blanket as well as our sleeping bags! The tent faced east and got hot early. My husband got to catch and release lots of trout, most big enough to keep.

Enough said for tonight! Time to go sit in the spa and watch the stars come out. The big impact is scheduled for tonight, so I think I will go check out one of the space news sites and see what is happening there!
